I'm willing to do look-ups in Old Houses of Coventry, compiled by Rev. Marvin Root in 1844 and revised 1864. It's packed with names and locations beginning with Coventry's founding in 1715. I am also willing to do look ups of birth, death, marriage and baptismal records. Finally, I spend quite a bit of time in our old burial grounds, and for a nominal fee to cover costs, could take photos of gravestones, ( or at least try to get a decent shot as this isn't easy !!) I also will do look ups in Hale, House and related families.

NATHAN HALE CEMETERY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE , P.O. Box 177, Coventry, CT 06238 The Nathan Hale Cemetery, with its imposing granite monument to Nathan Hale, is located in the historic village area overlooking Coventry Lake. The cemetery is home to more than 175 gravestones from the colonial period, providing the opportunity to study the history, folk art, and burial customs of Eastern Connecticut. This burial ground is well maintained by the town, but as in many ancient graveyards, its oldest stones are showing the effects of more than 200 years of weathering and pollution.
The Preservation Committee was founded in 1999 . Charter members are Brian Heath, chairman; Lesley Evans, Linda Pagliuco, and Tony Pagliuco . Our goals are to help restore and conserve gravestones, to update existing records, and to serve as an educational resource to the community and to other related organizations. To date, we have held several workshops, open to the public, on appropriate gravestone cleaning methods Heavy lichen incrustations have been carefully removed from approximately 25 eighteenth century stones . An inventory of existing stones is also underway. We are now offering a walking tour of the cemetery, with emphasis upon gravestone carvers and the family of Nathan Hale.
The Preservation Committee meets regularly on the first Wednesday of every month, at 7:30 PM, at the historic Nathan Hale Homestead, South Street, Coventry, Connecticut. Please consider joining us. We cordially invite you to come and make an important contribution to the past and to the future.
For additional information, or to book a walking tour, please contact Linda Pagliuco

FRENCH-CANADIAN GENEALOGY: There is a large population of French-Canadians in eastern CT. Most had ancestors who immigrated in the late 1800's to work in local textile mills. To trace French-Canadian lines in Quebec I can use the vast resources (Drouin, Jette, Tanguay, PRDH, etc) at the French-Canadian Genealogical Society in Tolland, CT. Her home page can be found here.
