Ebenezer Foskett, son of Samuel and Sarah (Hunt) Foskett, was born in Charlton, March 8, 1787. He was a farmer and spent his whole life on the old Foskett homestead in Charlton, where Ebenezer Foskett of Stoneham, settled in 1739, and where Dan Foskett lives now (1905). He died in Charlton, Oct. 14, 1860. He married in West Sutton, July 4, 1820, Anna Waters. She was born in West Sutton, May 20, 1791, and continued to live on the old place after the death of her husband until her death, Sept. 23, 1875, in Charlton. Their children were: 1. Harriet, b. Apr. 3, 1821, d. at Webster, June 17, 1894; married 1851 Reuben T. Eddy, son of Joel & Sally (Thurston) Eddy, b. in Oxford, Dec. 7, 1811. He had a meat market in Webster; d. in Webster, Jul. 3, 1876. Married first, May 24, 1837, Dulcinea Converse of Spencer, who d. Mar. 10, 1846, had three children; Anna Maria, Byron Edgar, Lewis Elmer. 2. Samuel waters, b. Dec. 29, 1823. 3. Tamma, b. Aug. 15, 1825, d. Charlton, Apr. 30, 1855; married, 1853, Whitman B. Potter, a Charlton farmer; he went west in 1856, settled in La Crescent, Minnesota, had by this his first marriage Amelia, Tamma, b. at Charlton, Mar. 24, 1855, married 1872, George Martin. 4. Mercy, b. Jun. 25, 1826, engaged in sale of millinery and fancy goods at Southbridge, MA; in 1858 removed to Worcester; unmarried. 5. John, b. Mar. 28, 1828, d. at Webster, Jun. 6, 1898, married, 1869, Betsey A. Dockham; he was a farmer at Charlton, removed to Lake Village, NH, 1872, lived at Webster again later and d. there; his children were; Annie Augusta, Harrison Brown, John Waters & Herbert. 6. Samantha, b. Nov. 1, 1829, for some years had a millinery store at Webster; later kept house for her brother John and brought up his children; removed 1902 to No. Wilmington, MA; unmarried. 7. Dan, b. Feb. 11, 1833, married in Worcester, Sept. 26, 1862, Millia Antoinette Davis, daughter of Samuel and Chloe (Simpson) Davis, who was b. in Paxton, Feb. 14, 1843, is the fifth Foskett in direct line to occupy the old homestead of Ebenezer Foskett, bought in 1734; has twelve children. 8. Eliza, b. Apr. 26, 1835, taught school some years and afterward was a nurse in Webster and Lowell; removed in 1896 to Worcester, where she lived with her sister Mercy and d. there Oct. 30, 1902.
