This page is to help answer questions about my installation
of the Crane Optical (1964 356SC) & pertronix magnetic ignitions (1957
356A Speedster, 912 case) . Please remember that these are street/rallye/race
cars and not concurs queens. The units are installed in 031 Bosch distributors
and have not been touched or re adjusted except for yearly checks in 3-4
years - they both perform flawlessly under my use/conditions.

1-3 are the pertronix installed in my speedster - note that the only visible
change is two wires to the coil instead of one - also the lack of a condenser
allows the use of a dual OP sender with no interference..

4-7 show the crane in my SC - with a clear view of the optical collar in-between
the light & sensor - as I am too lazy to drill the firewall I have
attached the black box in the rear of the engine compartment with ties...
this was a temporary 'test' location four years ago - I may do a permanent
installation someday.
I hope this helps answer various questions as I'd like not to disassemble these running cars more at this time.
